Sr. Pastor Dave Wood
Reverend David B. Wood began his ministry with us on April 1, 2001. Prior to coming to Crestwood, Pastor Wood had
served as pastor in four other Baptist churches: three in eastern North
Carolina, and one in Washington, DC.
This is his thirtieth year in pastoral ministry.
Pastor Wood was born in Winston-Salem. After graduating from Parkland High School he was appointed to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Security Affairs. His military service included nearly six years of active duty, and ten years of reserve duty, as a Marine Officer.
While serving a small, rural congregation in Duplin County, NC, Pastor Wood enrolled in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated in the spring of 1984 with a Masters of Divinity (With Languages) degree.
Pastor Wood has been blessed to have Claudette Harper Wood as his loving wife for over thirty-four years. She has been an understanding, supportive mate through military deployments, seminary studies, pastoral ministry, and the raising of a family. The Woods have two adult children (Joshua and Jennifer) and three grandsons (Nathaniel, Philip, and Andre).
